Ok, so it's been five months since I've updated.  Give me a break, will ya, I've had a lot on my mind.  Control is an illusion.  Life is too fast.  I'm thinking about becoming Amish...anyone up for a road trip?  If anyone out there likes to go running or rollerblading, hit me up with a comment cause its more fun when you have someone to talk with as you go.  Summer seems to be here all at once, festival was pretty cool, I haven't been in michigan for it for 3 years.  I ran into a bunch of friends and we had the hacky sack circle rockin'.  Then I just wandered around aimless randomly meeting people I haven't seen in years.  It's sad to think that I'll be gone again in less than a year.  But then again, being home isn't as wonderful as I had thought it would be.  Luckily, my friends help me to be happy, wouldn't trade them for anything.  So much to do.......

Peace

I am the worst xanga guy ever...Things are looking up lately, though.  I start my new old job on Sunday working 3rd shift.  I've worked "through the night" before, but never just at night, so it will be interesting to see how that works out.  I'm stubbornly optemistic about it at this point.  Computer training classes start in the beginning of march, yahoo.  My first time back in school since...too long.  My dad goes in for another operation on monday, I'm afraid it won't be too long before he is stuck on dialysis (treatment for worsening diabetics.  I told him I had an extra kidney, he says we'll see.  Lent is off to a great start this year and with two consecutive days I have broken my previous record of keeping my commitment.  This year it is praying the rosary daily as well as a visit to the adoration chapel.  We are so blessed to have 2 perpetual adoration chapels in this city.  The last big development is that I start my reserve army time (1year) the first weekend of march, and I have orientation on the 23rd.  My job is chaplain's assistant.  What a huge responsibility, and what a tremendous opportunity to do so much good.  I pray that I will always set a great example.  Well, I'm off to adoration, I can't believe nothing is going on, and on friday night!....for shame.

Most people enjoy the weekend these days.  But it's the furthest from Sunday.  The closest to...and the furthest from. Sigh

13 more days, how cool is that?  I will have completed my first solo chapter of my life.  I can't believe the things I've done, places I've gone, and people I've met.  I feel like I'm a character in a movie, the slow trimphant music begins to play as the hero returns to wherever the story began having weathered the storm and faught the good fight....and roll credits.  But rather than this being the end, it is only the beginning, this was just the preface, the intro, and or quite possibly the table of contents, one or the other, never both and there is no prefered method.  School starts in January...11th...ish I think.  It's time to see if I have what it takes to maintain my discipline and state of readiness while I don't have the standards of others being imposed and inspected on a regular basis.  Am I scared?  Yeah, a bit.  But that keeps you alert and watchful.

This will be my first Christmas at home in two years, missing the first one due to a mission cycle and another, during a deployment.  My whole family will be there, Angie is flying from Los Angeles and everything.  I can hardly wait!

I've got goose bumps.

Saturdays are great days, it takes a lot to have a bad saturday because even if stuff goes wrong you can always remind yourself that you didn't have to work today.  I spent a good 5 hours helping my buddy Scott by taking him shopping for a computer desk and a futon, and then helping him put the futon together.  When you have a truck and live in the barracks everyone comes to you for help.  I figured out a way to make sure some of the Catholic guys here go to Church with me by planning to go to lunch after 1230 Mass.  I'm looking forward to seeing who will actually wake up tomorrow when I go get them, though.

The two (2) ;) newest Strong Bad emails are simply fantastic, although you need to have seen a lot of the HomeStar content to get all of the humor, mostly spinoff references to other cartoons and sbemails.  That site always makes me laugh.

Sense of humor is one of my favorite qualities in people I wouldn't go so far as to call it a virtue, but it is definitely a positive attribute.  Like love and compassion a person has to rise above the circumstance they are given, and make a willful choice to try and promote happiness.  Just like laughter, love can be contagious too.  Too bad it doesn't spread as easily as the SARS I just caught on my last trip to China.

I want to get a tattoo or two.  Very small, they would fit inside a fingernail.....no I don't want it on my fingernail.  I was thinking maybe a cross or a small picture of the flaming heart with the crown of thorns from the sacred heart iconography.  I will probably get them on the outside knuckles of my index fingers so they will always be before me.

Well, its late, good night website.
